Founded by Emma Townsend, Burnt Toast is a London-based producer and mixer management company built on trust, empathy, and great sound.

Emma began her music career as Studio Manager at some of London’s most iconic recording studios, including Strongroom, Metropolis, and RAK. She has since expanded her work into producer and mixer management.

Throughout her career, Emma has been guided by a human-first approach, focused on creating safe, supportive environments where everyone can do their best work from studio assistants to established artists.

This ethos continues to shape and drive her work today. Since October 2024, Emma has served as an Executive Director of the Music Producers Guild, where she plays an active role in initiatives centred on studio safety and political advocacy.
